An Intruduction to
Hazrat Shaykh Zulfiqar Saheb Naqshbandi Damat Baraktuhu

I met Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad Saheb (Hazrat Ji) Damat Barakatahum more than a decade ago. I fell in love with him on the very first sight. The serene beauty on his blessed face and the profound reflection of peace in his voice along with his manners and simple bodily movements reflected unspeakable attractions.

At that stage of my life I was confused and in search of inner peace. When Hazrat Ji taught me Muraqabah (spiritual meditation) I found what I had been looking for.

Some time later, when I visited my Mother (may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala shower blessings on her grave – Amin) she was deeply struck by the positive change in my behavior and attitude. Thereafter she continually made Du'a (supplications) for the well-being of Shaykh Zulfiqar Saheb, and advised me to remain a servant of Hazrat Ji for the rest of my life.

Every time my love for Hazrat Ji was tested, the advice of my late mother has served as a Guiding Light. I was a Muslim, but I only found the Haqiqat of Islam in the Khidmat of Hazrat Ji. I was a Mu'min, but I only found the Haqiqat of Iman in the company of Hazrat Ji.

Most Salikeen nowadays don't get very far in Tasawwuf because they do not understand the importance of the Murid's love for the Shaykh and don't go the extra mile in order to achieve it.

Everyday I thank Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that I met Hazrat Ji. Everyday, without fail, I pray for him, his parents, and his family which has continued to help me spiritually.

A person without a Shaykh is like a ship without a rudder which is left to the mercy of the winds.

A branch of a tree that is cut away from the trunk will never see spring.

Thus, it is necessary to remain attached with Shaykh-e-Kamil and hope for a beautiful spring in Paradise.

Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad is one of leading shaykhs of Tasawwuf in the present era. Formally granted authorization (ijazah) in the Naqshbandi spiritual path (tariqah), he retired from his position as an electrical engineer at the age of forty to devote himself entirely to the service of Islam. He regularly travels to more than thirty countries transforming the lives of people all over the world. A testament to his deep love for Allah, his uncompromising dedication to sunnah of the blessed Prophet , and his firm adherence to Islamic Law (shariah) is that thousands of religious scholars and students of Islamic learning are among his students (murids).
